The Shepherds Bush London Festival returns !

We are delighted to announce that Jamel Debbouze will have his debut 'Jamel & the Comedy Club' in London on 1st June 2009 at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire.

Jamel Debbouze is a french comedian, actor and producer of Moroccan descent who won national recognition in 2002 after acting in the french sitcom "H" . Jamel has been part of French popular culture for years now; he started out in stand-up comedy at a very young age and then moved into radio, TV and film.
He was the winner of the Prix d'interprétation masculine at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival for his part in Indigenes (Days of Glory). The UK audience will be familiar with his work as 'Lucien' in 'Amelie' and also in Luc Besson's 'Angel-A'.

In March 1999, Jamel started his own show "Jamel en scène" where he talked about his childhood and show business. In 2002, Jamel returned with a new show, "100% Debbouze". For three years, this show played in the top Parisian theatres: Casino de Paris, Bataclan, Zenith and Olympia before touring France, Morocco, Tunisia, Switzerland and Belgium. When the DVD of this show went on sale in 2004, more than 1 million copies were sold.

In 2006, Jamel became the presenter of a new weekly TV show called 'Jamel Comedy Club' where he presented the new generation of french humorists. With this troup, Jamel came to the Casino de Paris in 2007 for a new show 'Le Jamel Comedy Club envahit le Casino de Paris'. This show was very successful, its run was extended and it also played in Canada.

Jamel appears for the first time on a London stage. The Jamel Comedy Club is a must see event for any french-speaking comedy lovers !
